The Swiss watchmaking brand Tudor has recently refreshed its model range by presenting a new family of sporty Tudor Grantour automatic watches.

Presented in a compact yet imposing stainless steel cases around 42 millimeters in width, the new family consists of three members:
– a car dashboard-inspired Tudor Grantour Chrono Fly-Back (refs. 20550N & 20551N) with a highly legible bi-compax dial layout and an easy-to-operate fly-back chronograph function;
– a dressier three-hander Tudor Grantour Date (ref. 20500N): a three-hander equipped with a simple calendar;
– as well as a more classic Grantour Chrono (ref. 20530N) with a modern tri-compax design.
To make the watches even more legible, the large and bold Arabic numerals were transferred from dials to the black-lacquered fixed bezels, while their place was taken by prominent hour markers. Made from polished steel and sporting a decisively industrial look, the hour markers are especially contrasting against the matte-black background of the dial.
The sword-shaped hour and minute hands are, too, crafted from polished steel and are additionally covered with a layer of luminous substance, which makes all three watches perfectly readable in any lighting condition.
The minute tracks on the new Grantour models were graduated in such a way as to make it possible to measure time intervals with an accuracy of up to 1.5th of a second!
All models in the new Tudor Grantour line are powered by Swiss-made automatic movements that offer different functionality and power reserve but are similar in their uncompromised quality and reliability.
As usual for such a serious brand, the watches are available with a nice choice of straps, including a satin-finished three-piece link steel bracelet with a polished centerpiece, as well as a pair of leather straps with either large or micro-perforations that make them even more comfortable to wear during hot summer days.
Besides the obvious elements of design that are identical throughout the range, the thing that truly unites the three new models is that they feel adequately relevant both with Nomex racing gear and with a tailor-made “100% Super 180 wool” suit.
An instant classic, indeed.
