The automatic Dievas Shadow Stealth is a product of a successful crossbreeding between their Focal and Reaper tactical timekeepers.
Featuring a highly contrasting black-and-yellow color scheme that allows easier reading of time in virtually any environment, the watch also offers an extremely scratch-resistant black finish with its stainless steel body hardened in a sort of carbon bath and then treated with plasma, which forms a thin, but also a hard coating on its surface. I am not sure how well it would stand when compared to, say, DLC (which, too, has weak points of its own) but it looks and feels durable and robust.
Judging by the technical specs, the watch is based on the aforementioned Dievas Focal automatic diver.
It sports the same body 45 millimeters in diameter and 14.5 millimeters thick and is also powered by the same time-proven ETA 2824-2 self-winding movement, which is fitted with the easily recognizable black DLC-treated oscillating weight with Dievas logo and has the winding crown moved five hours clockwise to a position at 8 o’clock.
Though the crown positioning is not terribly easy to operate (at least for us, right-handed guys, lefties will love it), the oversized part still looks more comfortable and safer than the usual design when the crown is placed at 3 hours. On the other hand (small pun intended), for lefties and those who usually prefer to wear their watches on the right wrists, the position of the crown is almost ideal.
Straight almost like train rails, the lugs of the Dievas Shadow Stealth may look a little too long for a normal wrist, but in fact, they are also of just the right size for a normal guy. (I didn’t have a chance to wear one, but I tried the aforementioned Focal on my wrist, and it was almost perfect for my wrist of 18 cm.)
The dial is outsourced from another “black-on-black” model: the stealthy Reaper. The hands and the Arabic numerals are the same, although the hour markers were obviously changed for more Rolex-style ones.
While all elements of the dial (except for the numerals on the calendar wheel) are covered with some luminous substance that looks bright yellow under light but glows green in the darkness, it must be noted that the four Arabic numerals are weak in their glow, which leaves a somewhat dubious impression. Still, the watch is easily readable and comfortable on the eyes.
