Featuring a very clean design that successfully combines the legibility of a classic pilot’s watch with the ruggedness of a modern diving tool, the new Dievas Vortex Professional 500M may be a bit too expensive for a person graduating from something like a Seiko Monster, but, in my humble opinion, easily compensates the price differential with the build quality, impeccable styling, and, of course, tons of German-style mojo.

Concord C1 Chronograph Amethyst (ref. 0320100)
The Swiss brand has issued a “king of bling” member of its C1 Chronograph collection. Animated by an average self-winding caliber, the Concord C1 Chronograph Amethyst (ref. 0320100) is adorned with 217 amethysts totaling stunning (and quite taxing on your bank account) 13.8 carats.
Armand Nicolet L09 in Rose Gold and DLC Titanium
Armand Nicolet -a Swiss brand that was established more than a hundred years ago, succumbed to the Quartz Crisis back in 1970, and, reborn under a new management, found a profitable niche in making luxury timekeepers powered by NOS (also referred to as “new old stock”) mechanical calibers- has officially presented its new range of watches built with modified historic movements inside. The Armand Nicolet L09 in rose gold and DLC titanium (Ref. S619N-BU-G9610) belongs to the new trio of sporty timekeepers that successfully combine their modern exteriors with deliberately archaic mechanisms.
Longines Master Collection Retrograde Moon Phases
Longines has once again updated its Master Collection family with the new Master Collection Retrograde Moon Phases (ref. L2.738.4.71.6 & L2.739.4.71.3) model. Equipped with a high-grade mechanical caliber and featuring a classic design of a very appealing sort, this watch looks like a self-evident choice for a rational person with a good taste.
DOXA Grafic Mistero Quartz Chronograph
With its quartz Grafic Mistero (ref. 359.10S.101.20) chronograph, DOXA makes the first step into the uncharted territory of relatively inexpensive timepieces that come in a deliberately “un-Doxa” hi-tech exterior.
Oris Swiss Hunter Team PS (Patrouille-Suisse) Edition
The upcoming Oris Swiss Hunter Team PS Edition (ref. 01 733 7629 4063-Set LS in 44 millimeters and a smaller ref. 01 733 7649 4091-Set LS in 38 mm) collection may not look particularly original both to Oris fans and to those especially interested in aviator’s timekeepers, but, with a part of the proceedings promised to be diverted to a fund supporting a number of the last remaining Hawker Hunter Mk 58 fighter jets from the good old Cold War era, it certainly supports a noble cause.
