Unlike the much-awaited Apple Watch (we will see it in a matter of hours), the 2014 Breitling Colt Caliber 73 SuperQuartz Chronograph doesn’t need to try to destroy the competition. With its classic massive body, easy-to-grip unidirectional rotating bezel, and traditional high-contrast dial, the new Colt delivers everything you ever wanted from a Breitling but never were quite ready to pull the trigger on their more expensive models. The device won’t stun you with the same level of craftsmanship as an automatic mechanism decorated by a skilled hand of an artisan but instead will offer you an almost unrivaled level of precision and dependability.

JeanRichard Terrascope is Now Available in Rose Gold
JeanRichard Terrascope, a relatively new family of “masculine” timekeepers has just been updated with a number of “two-tone” models that successfully combine gold and steel. Carefully mixing textures and colors, the Swiss-based brand effectively delivered one of the most attractive cushion-shaped watches currently available on the market.
Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Pink Gold & Ceramic
The 2014 Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Pink Gold (Ref. 49970-34-633-BB6B) sports traditional for the Swiss brand extremely well-balanced look that comes as a successful combination of good taste and almost unrivaled design skills. While the new timepiece has a number of elements that are a bit too ahem stylized, they somehow manage to be organic when you look at the gadget as a whole. I have a strong suspicion that GP uses some sort of magic to make such beautiful accessories.
Truly Gorgeous: Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk Cobalt Blue
First revealed in its current form in 2011 (its signature shape, however, was introduced in 2002) and slightly refreshed in all the right places back in December 2012, the Sea Hawk family has been expanded with a new variation.
Called Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk Cobalt Blue and available either on a blue rubber strap (ref. 49960-19-431-FK4A) or a bit less flashy, but a lot more practical stainless steel bracelet (ref. 49960-19-431-11A), the diver makes an even stronger impression. In fact, it radiates such a strong presence that you would probably need to wear Dr. Freeman’s hazmat suit just to walk into your nearest Girard-Perregaux boutique to see the watch in person.
Breitling Chronomat Airborne 30th Anniversary 41/44
Breitling, the company that likes to be associated with anything that has an even passing relationship with the sky, greatly appreciates its long-standing partnership with Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force aerobatics team.
It was less than 18 months ago that the brand introduced the limited-edition Chronomat Frecce Tricolori 44: a member of the family that differed from its siblings only with the team’s logo printed on its black dial. This year, they introduce their 2014 Chronomat Airborne 30th Anniversary: another limited edition that, as the name implies, celebrates the 30th anniversary of their relationship. Available both in a compact 41 mm body and in a more impressive 44 mm case, the chronograph looks a lot more original, comes with two colors of its dial, and is equipped with a high-grade, in-house chronograph movement.
Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono 2014
Chopard is known for its endless love for all things automotive. During the last two or three years, they have introduced several beautiful sporty timekeepers, and it doesn’t look like they are going to stop churning out new racing-inspired chronographs and three-handers any time soon.
Coming in a flashy black-and-yellow (a color scheme, which is often associated with Chevrolet’s Corvette Racing team, although I am not sure whether the similarity is intentional or purely coincidental), the Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono 2014 (ref. 168570-3001) will not go unnoticed even if you plan to wear it with a Hawaiian shirt.
