With its new JeanRichard Aquascope Diver Monocoque, the Swiss brand successfully bridges the stylistic gap between its original Aquascope and the newer Highlands collections. Besides the refreshed dial, the 2013 version of the Aquascope Monocoque has also received the same self-winding movement that powers the new limited edition Highlands CDC Carbon that was released last month.

Limes Introduces “Casual” Endurance Leviathan Diver
Speaking the same easily recognizable design language that we have already seen last year when the German brand introduced its “professional” Endurance Neptun 2 1000m diver, the 2012 Limes Endurance Leviathan comes in a slightly larger body, but features a more “civil” -more casual, if you like- appearance thanks to the new bezel that, while being less ahem technocratic, is still ergonomic thanks to its prominent notches providing easy grip, as well as the familiar Rolex-style diving scale that makes it easier to use the watch as rudimentary timer not only deep underwater but also doing more mundane tasks, like cooking eggs and this sort of things.
Oris Challenge International de Tourisme 1932 Edition
Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the third FAI International Tourist Plane Contest (also known as Challenge International de Tourisme) that took place on August 1932 in Berlin, the Swiss watchmaker has presented the vintage-fashioned limited edition Oris Challenge International de Tourisme 1932 (ref. 01 733 7669 4084-Set LS). Featuring a classic notched bezel, a set of art-deco-styled Arabic numerals and nicely shaped luminous hands, it looks cool and is also easily recognizable among hundreds of standard B-Uhr-style timekeepers.
Chr. Ward Makaira Pro 500 Diver C11-MAK-SKWSI
Mostly known for their “tributes” to more expensive, legendary (or, in other words, class-defining) models like different iterations of Rolex Submariner, the iconic IWC Portuguese, and the likes, the British-based brand, however, sometimes offers a lot more original watches of their own design. The Chr. Ward Makaira Pro 500 (Ref. C11-MAK-SKWSI) diver belongs to the latter breed of timekeepers that an enthusiast can easily wear without losing the tiniest bit of their self-respect.
The Sporty Alpina Racing Small Seconds AL-535AB5AR26
Earlier this year, Alpina has updated their product range with a number of “sporty” models that were delivered in terribly oversized bodies whole 47 millimeters in diameter. Among others, the package included the elegant Alpina Racing Small Seconds 47mm (Ref. AL-535AB5AR26). I was slow to react to the event back then, but recently I have seen them in a number of online shops (including Amazon) and now feel obliged to spread the word.
Raymond Weil Maestro Open Heart is Surprisingly Cool
The good old Raymond Weil Lady Maestro line has fairly recently been updated with a new open-heart version. Finally available in different colors (including absolutely gorgeous one on a lime-green strap with reference number 2827-L5-00966) and growing noticeably in size, the updated timekeeper still features the easily recognizable design cues on its dial, including the clever use of guilloching and diamond-setting techniques.
